Friday, January 27, 2012 - Enticing nose of raspberry and cherry and baking spice.Great. The mouth doesn't live up to the nose, but it is still quite good. This is a finesseful wine, elegant with it's upfront red fruit followed by a dash of nutmeg. What is there is rather intense, sadly there needs to be a bit more complexity to round out this wine. The lively acidity is slightly more pronounced on the finish, which is also a little bitter. Med finish. Pretty good gamay. We poured and drank this wine, and I find (an hour later as I write my notes) that air didn't do this wine many favors. Pop and pour. Given the vibrant fruit and acidity, this wine should hold another few years easily.
