Friday, March 1, 2013 - Decanted and poured immediately in PN glass. Left in glass for 30 minutes before first sip. PN glass worked pretty well but I'll go back to BDX next time. In spite of quick decant this was very reticent on the nose for the first hour but eventually opened up to nice floral spice notes. The palate has an amazingly lush velvety texture. Silky tanins! I really like the basic material and mouthfeel. Even though very accessible now this needs more time and should end being something special. Right now mostly lush blackberry, some tar and spice. If, I buy more I'll try to hold onto them for at least a few years before drinking another btl. Paid $44 which is eminently fair for this wine. Unfortunately, I still have fond memories of paying mid to high 20s for this wine. Still, great quality and pleasure here for the money even at mid $40.
