Sunday, March 21, 2021 - Said to be a blend of 75% Mouvedre, 15% Grenache, 7% Cinsault & 3% Carignan from 40yr old vines. Opened 4 hours prior to dinner and slow oxed in btl & glass. Deep ruby garnet color. Aromas of pepper, meat and earth. Sips are a resolved velvety mix of more meat, earth, licorice, herbs and garrigue. All in all a fine example of maturing Bandol rouge. Where it goes from here? Is anybody's guess. Tempier Bandol rouge is its own thing and fun now and again. My last of 4. 14% alc adds to the weighty feel but no heat. Maybe a tad more lift would be nice. Paid $36 near release.
