Wednesday, December 9, 2020 - Almost three years after my last bottle, and I suspect Purple Tooth (just below) had a bad bottle as this wine is by no means old. Pnp. While there is a fair bit of leather already, the fruit is still rich, almost a bit flabby, clearly on the riper side as usual in the 07 vintage but does not go into overripe and bitter/burned tar notes. As per label 15% alcohol but not noticeable heat here, so well done at Fanti! Tannins are soft and round. Finish is medium.
A very good 07 BdM in my eyes. Not particularly well delineated but fun and easy to drink now, and good at least for another 4-5 years in my eyes as no signs of oxidization whatsoever. Will it improve? Unlikely. 91-92
