Seepage about half way up the cork. Decanted through a Vinturri. Wine is ruby-crimson with no evidence of oxidation/bricking. Still in a very good space at this time.

A: med garnet with loads of bricking N: Tuscan dust, mushrooms, earth, still red cherry, clove, spice, wet leaves, dried herbs P: dry, med body, med (+) acidity, high well integrated tannins, 14% ABV C: good wine = well balanced acidity and tertiary character, med (+) complexity, med (+) intensity, med concentration, med (+) finish. Had held up surprisingly well given 2007 heat - a bit muted but still enjoyable wine.

A year since my last bottle and very consistent showing. Hast obviously lost some of the richness. Smooth and silky but aromatically muted. Ultimately cannot entirely hide the hot 07 vintage with some black, burned notes on the mid palate, but clearly well done in the vintage context. Drink now

Fully mature Brunello, drinking very well. I drink a lot of younger Fanti which I always think is a good example of the brunello archetype. That’s true for this older vintage as well.
Medium color with clear age, garnet color
Medium body, still quite a lot of acid and medium tannins. Complex flavor with a lot of herbs, balsamic and licorice but still a lot of dark cherry to complement it. Fairly long finish.

Very tasty, good acid. Cherry flavors and smooth tannin. Good drinker of medium body. Did not develop more complexity
