Monday, November 4, 2013 - Lovely aromas of flowers, red and black cherries, ink, smoke, a little new leather, a hint of cocoa powder, and a whiff of something that reminds me a bit of rotting vegetation (but in a good way). The palate starts with a big wave of puckery tart cherries, then red cherries, minerals, earth, a little citrus rind bitterness, and maybe some black cherries in the back. Acidity as mentioned, tannins come though at the end, decent finish. Really clean and delicious with food, though not very complex at this point. This was great with some simple roast chicken, potatoes, and bread. Should improve in a year or three.
