Tuesday, August 28, 2012 - An Evening with Chiara Boschis of E. Pira & Figli (I Nonni, St. Paul, MN): Medium red color. Drank 1 glass over 50 minutes. Preparation unknown, but not unexpectedly, this was quite tight on opening. After 30 minutes began to show promise in the nose with raspberry, spuice, cherry, anise, developing a nice floral quality very late. The palate has deep flavors of berry, cherry, spice, minerals. Prominent tannins, with lots of depth and a long finish. This holds much promise, but is far too young to truly appreciate. 92-94pts.
