Sunday, June 20, 2021 - Pristine cork, small amount of sediment. Beautiful pure ripe red plum colour. Deep, dark and with no signs of age. Lovely nose of dried blueberry, cassis, black raspberry, graphite, subtle charred oak and just a hint of dried earth and a little bit of funk. Seems a little shy on the nose initially - even after an hour decant. First sip is Wow! Huge, sweet, ripe, juice dark fruit. Full bodied, dry, huge extract and glycerine, subsumed tannins and a fine seam of supporting acidity. This has it all going on! Still all back and blue fruits, more graphite, sandlewood, black tea, stone dust and incredibly abundant but slippery smooth tannins on the finish that goes on and on. Everything you love about Tuscany,  but with 6-pack abs! This is a Wow wine all the way around! As time went on the slightest bit of cork taint emerged marring what would otherwise have been a 95 or 96 point wine. Sad, but at least it did not kill the early enjoyment of this bottle or prevent it from being finished.
