Saturday, January 22, 2011 - Scott Paul for early 2000 Burgs, Eyrie, and Vista Hills: Maybe I shouldn't be allowed to note wines like these. Someone probably likes this style, it's just not me. This smells like California Pinot Noir (and I didn't even realize it actually was). It's almost like a fruit reduction with alcohol; like a port on the nose. Very fruit forward on the palate. This doesn't show its age at all, really. That's the best thing I could say about it, though. It's nearly hot on the finish, and just way too fruity and extracted for my tastes.
