Sunday, January 26, 2014 - Consumed over 2 days, note from day 2. Nose: Closed down, needs a good swirl to reveal dark fruit - blackberry and cassis, licorice, menthol, tobacco, and spice - complexities abound on the nose but need coaxing to reveal themselves. Palate: Full bodied, blue and black fruit, great spicy mid-palate lift, tobacco and leather components add complexity. Finish: Lengthy sense of spicy dark fruit and earthiness. This wine needs a couple plus years to come into it's own, but when it does it will be something to behold. 93+
