OK, this wine was at the high end of the price points for this tasting, and it was 3 year junior to the CnP, but it came out almost at the top spot. A great showing. This convinces me of 2 things; drink US GSM 3-4 years earlier than French CnP, and French CnP can be remarkably similar to similar profiles from Paso Robles. I think one can find equal or better CnP for a little less, if you are willing to age them a few years longer. This wine was bright with brambly flavors up front, followed by a big round smooth middle and very long finish. A great wine, if you are willing to pay the entry price.
