2 hour decant. GSM blend. Light purple to garnet red in color. Nose of crushed black pepper, pretzels, blueberry and carnations. Initial sweetness of berry compote poured over slate with notes of cinnamon and finishing with black pepper, spice and sweet tarts. High acidity and medium tannins. Medium to heavy bodied and a long finish. Silky mouthfeel. Pretty nice overall. A solid 91.

Took 2nd in an otherwise all 2007 CnP tasting. OK, this wine was at the high end of the price points for this tasting, and it was 3 year junior to the CnP, but it came out almost at the top spot. A great showing. This convinces me of 2 things; drink US GSM 3-4 years earlier than French CnP, and French CnP can be remarkably similar to similar profiles from Paso Robles. I think one can find equal or better CnP for a little less, if you are willing to age them a few years longer. This wine was bright with brambly flavors up front, followed by a big round smooth middle and very long finish. A great wine, if you are willing to pay the entry price.

A nose of dark fruits and spice, dark purple in color. A full-bodied Rhone blend, with flavors of blueberry, black raspberry, and cassis, finishes with licorice and herbs and spices. In a good drinking zone. www.winelx.com

Wonderful GSM blend that speaks of the land of which it came from. Maybe one of the darkest wines I have seen in the glass. Perfume of a nose, violets, lavender and sandalwood. Soft mouthfeel despite the eclipse in the glass. Lush black fruits, hint of licorice and black cherry. Balanced tannins and acidity. Finish shows the finesse and balance of bottle aging.

Opened up 2 1/2 hours and decanted before dinner. Nice extraction, perfect balance & a harmony of flavors. With a little bottle age it didn't have that overipe fruit that so many Paso GSM's have when young. My 1st bottle of Linne Calodo & overall I was impressed. I bought a few other bottles of Linne to try & will report back.

We really wanted to like this wine. Tasted in Paso and bought a couple bottles at the winery and cellared for a couple years. We opened one bottle in July for our anniversary celebration and honestly didn't enjoy it. We had done some wine tasting that day in Napa and thought perhaps our palate were tired. Couldn't decide if it was us or the wine. We tried the second bottle last night with fresh palates. It was the wine. The fruit was gone and there was nothing on the nose. This had turned into a flat wine lacking balance and complexity. There are plenty of beautiful GSMs out there for half the price that will age beautifully. Glad this is no longer taking up cellar space.

This was an excellent wine. The balance was very good both in the blend of grapes and the acid/tannin levels. Good integration, making the wine a pleasure to taste from beginning to end. At the same time, I kept thinking to myself that I could do better for less money by buying a high quality CnP or Languedoc. I conclude that this is a great wine, but it is too expensive.

Note from bottle opened after first being Coravin'd a week earlier. Plums, black cherries, pepper and spice on the nose. Similar on the palate. Finishes with lots of pepper.

Solid in your wheelhouse kind of wine. Not too showy. Nice blend. Good integration. Nice finish. A quiet leader. More of a leader than follower kind of bottle.

Nice wine in that Linne style, if you've had it before you know what I'm talking about, if you haven't I won't do it justice. This was a nice bottle, easy to drink, not overly complex, primarily fruit drive.

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like tea, tobacco, lead pencil and blackberry. It tastes like blackberry, blueberry, raspberry, black currant (cassis), strawberry jam, petrol, bark and soy sauce. The body is full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

Tasty juice from the get go. In fact, should go get some more! (Couldn't help myself on that - sorry) but a nice easy blend that showed more depth with each glass. thus decanted should prove beneficial as the fruit developed more complexity and a more lush approach

S-G-M blend. Good acidity, more noticeable than in 2009, with some cherry fruit follow by olive/herb notes and smoke. Drinks like a fully loaded CDR. Drink or hold.

A prototypical Paso GSM blend. Great balance. You can feel the attention to detail in the glass. Everything just works with this wine.

Inky dark wine. Solid fruit but the wine seems driven by the grenache with a strong mineral flinty core. Very tasty though.
