91 Points

Friday, April 1, 2011 - Deep garnet to purple, no sediment. Steamy nose of blackberries, tar and beef. Entry is more ripe black fruit, especially berries and plums, middle palate has light tannins is slightly volatile, but the density overwhelms. Finishes with bracing tartness, more meat and some flowers. At 11 years this still drinks as a young wine. It was delicious with rack of lamb, with plenty of stuff to stand up to the mustard/garlic topping.
