Thursday, February 16, 2012 - Popped, decanted and poured. I love the deep dark eggplant color, and the sparkle it gives during the swirl. A bit tight with noticeable heat on the nose and palate. After 10 hours there was a noticeable difference. Mostly grape on the nose (now how different is that!)with lots of dark fruit and spice on the palate, medium weight with soft, coating tannins well integrated with the wine's acidity. Very long finish accented with spice at the end. The tight sharp notes from the initial opening have now mellowed out. Unbelievable QPR - there were only four bottles in the store when I came across this wine at COSTCO and took them all.
