Bought 6b for 14/b from a local independent shop 10 years ago. Solid cork. Decanted with normal sediment for its age. Medium dark purple; very mature red plums that follow on the palate, good mouthfeel. Enjoyable but a little past its prime. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. Quality, price, age: Notable.

My second bottle. The wine had a great cork which I appreciate. Legs ran slow and fat. On the first day it was very decent with some tannins but nothing over the top. The fruit was present but subdued. I would describe it as a medium bodied wine a bit on the soft side. But the second day the fruit was dominant. I upped my score two points as a result. Very succulent taste. CT users indicate drink now, but based on the fact that the wine emerged more in the second day, I think this could go up to 5 more years.

Garnet in color with beautiful nose of oak and jammy dark fruit. Flavors of plum, oak and black cherry are very well integrated in this nicely balanced wine. A lingering finish with moderate tannins. More like a fine cabernet than a tempranillo. I think this will still hold up well for another couple years.

This is finally at its peak and it is outstanding. Ready to go on PnP, it offers a wonderful bouquet of dark fruits and well-integrated sweet oak. Excellent taste and mouthfeel with a 20 second finish. Drank over 1.5 hours with various grilled meats, hating the fact that this was my last bottle.

Last TN 8/2012. Decanted 2 hours. Consumed over 2 hours. Nose is relatively generous with fresh dark fruit. Palate is medium bodied dark fruit with food friendly acidity, medium complexity and medium (longer than most ) length.

Peaking right now and amazingly delicious! This isn't the same wine it was 1.5 years ago. I was stunned, expecting only a decent Crianza. Loads of cinnamon and other sweet exotic spices on the mid-pallet. Long smooth finish that had me searching for what else I could find in there. Very interesting stuff - I'm not going to hold my last bottle too much longer...

Lord help me, this one got good in the last year! Previous bottles were nicely typical of the Ribera del Duero region and this crianza was a great price. Now, however, it shows all the power and finesse that the region normally offers in a bottle thrice the price. Inky fruit, tannins, long finish. I'm glad that I opted to share this with friends so they can testify as well! And glad we had steaks Galician style! Perfect.

My wife threw away my wine notes - this was better on night 2 but on night 1 it was disjointed for the 1st hour or so in the decanter. It was relatively similar to the prior tasting but less sour cherry and more black fruits & tobacco. This was better with food - medium length finish. 89-90 range.

Dried blood color. Initial nose was smoke and bacon, which then opened to dark cherry. Smelled like a diet L'Ermitage to start. This needs at least an hour to open. Acid spine. Dark cherry, incense, sweet tart palate. Long dry finish, with lingering acidity. I expect this will improve with time. The more Spanish wine I drink the more I note this. This is serious wine.

Decanted thru vinturi then 1 hour to rest. Dark black/purple, note that a small to moderate amount of sediment came at the end of the pour. Nose of dark cherry and berry. Black fruit on the palate, balanced if just slightly acidic; a good pairing with beef kabob and grilled vegetables. Moderately firm tannins, overall very good and improved over 1.5 hours. Drink now preferably with longer decant or hold.

This has been on my counter under stopper the past 4 nights. I was ready to basically pan this as a non-descript "good" Spanish red. But tonight it blossomed into a wine that could easily be mistaken for a 2007 Honig (Napa) Cabernet Sauvignon because of its savory deliciousness. That says a lot about this 8 year post-vintage 100% Tempranillo - that it would improve this way under stopper. Kudos to Tom Matthews from Spectator for flagging this one as being special. Nice call.

Very good QPR here. Dark purple in glass still looking very youthful. The nose has sweet cassis, blueberry compote, coconut, and loam. The palate is medium to full body with creamy cassis, fresh blueberries with smooth tannins. Well balanced and a pleasure to drink.

This wine get's an RS 90 because of QPR. Aromas of wet rock and forest floor dominate with a sweet seduction. Medium body with easy entry on the palate having subdued tannins nicely balanced with acids. Some hazelnut and mild spice on the finish. Overall, a solid contender for the price.

100% Tempranillo, this clear medium garnet wine leads with a bit of a mossy plum nose that is rural and gruff. Thick on the tongue but rustic and full of forrest, moss and weeds. Very interesting, not fruity, but with enough complexity to last the evening. Good with flavorful foods and a fine value.

3/24/12-with pork and rosemary potatoes and broccoli rice, very soft wine, really smooth. About a half hour into the glass the real flavors came out. Tangy? Real drinkable. Second day: this has turned into a very good wine. The fruit and tempranillo has arrived. One of my first impression on day one is this seems soft and not enought flavor. Not so today. It almost seems like a grenache today. Some reviewers commented on tannins. I detected them only in the after taste on day one and not at all today.

Deep purple color and aromas/flavors of dried dark berries, oak, and some spice. A nice medium/full bodied wine, although it lacked complexity on the flavor and finish -- what it delivers, it delivers very well. Excellent QPR.

Popped, decanted and poured. I love the deep dark eggplant color, and the sparkle it gives during the swirl. A bit tight with noticeable heat on the nose and palate. After 10 hours there was a noticeable difference. Mostly grape on the nose (now how different is that!)with lots of dark fruit and spice on the palate, medium weight with soft, coating tannins well integrated with the wine's acidity. Very long finish accented with spice at the end. The tight sharp notes from the initial opening have now mellowed out. Unbelievable QPR - there were only four bottles in the store when I came across this wine at COSTCO and took them all.

PnP. Found the nose to be a little tight and closed. Much better on the palate. There's nice balance of ripe dark fruits, spice, plum, dates and oak, complemented by soft tannins and acidity. Bought at Costco and was skeptical of wine given price and a top 100 WS rating. I was impressed. Decanted for 1 hour given prior notes and had with grilled lamb chops. On nose, sour cherry, tobacco blackberry & menthol. On palate, not as complex but nice fruit / acid / tannin balance (primarily cherry / sour cherry / blackberry). Medium body with not flat spots from attack to medium+ finish. Tannins well integrated and excellent with food. Will buy more. Preferred this to the '05 Resalte that was in the top 100 the prior year. Tasted blind, would have guessed Sangiovese. 91+ [edit] wine held up 4 nights later - i usually don't drink after more than 1 night in the cellar but this held up fine - clearly it was oxidized but enjoyable].

PnP. Nose and taste were nearly identical to bottles previously consumed. This wine consistently over-delivers for the price. Excellent QPR.

Nose: light nose with hints of dark fruit
Taste: big jammy taste, low tannins, very smooth with a nice medium finish. This wine is an awesome value.

From memory (and foggy at that). Great nose of oak and berries, good fruit in mouth, shortish finish. I have more and like the QPR. More detail later.

Pop and pour. Dark berry fruit and vegetal notes, slightly spicy. Concentrated, toward dry, integrated. Drying tannins, medium finish. Very good.

Nice aged classic Ribera. Really enjoyed this one at $15. Great QPR. Drank with a couple strong cheeses and some chorizo. Will buy again.

A good medium finish. This is a pleasant, easy drinking wine. No need to cellar. Enjoy now. Excellent QPR. Will buy more.

Needed a little aeration, but opened nicely after 30 minutes in a glass. Rustic flavor, with some berry. Medium finish.

- Medium forming legs and aromas of dusty and menthol. It's lacking fruit with a medium body. Coarse texture with a short finish.

Nice nose of flowers and dried fruits, decent everything - acidity, balance, finish, just not a very complicated wine, but nicely done, especially for the money. Good ribs/pizza wine.

PnP and drank over 20 minutes. Nose of cedar, incense/smoke, and dark fruits. Some spice on the palate. Med-full body with a 15-20 sec finish. We liked this, but felt it was holding back a bit. Should have decanted. Will buy another to see the difference. 89+

A nice balanced and stimulating tempranillo. If you decant for a few hours it continues to improve on both nose and palate for 91-92 points towards the end of the bottle.
