Friday, April 26, 2013 - France 2013 - Côte d'Or; 4/24/2013-4/26/2013 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. From barrel. These vines are located at the most southern part of the vineyard. Hint of reduction and minerals on the nose with lovely pomegranate, raspberry and other darker pinot fruit. Some spice too. Extremely pure, silky and velvety on the palate. The purity is equally matched by the energetic and lively acidity. Candied red fruits with a limestone and mineral laden finish. There’s plenty of intensity but with a lighter and elegant body.
