Tuesday, November 14, 2006 - Minneapolis Does Burgundy and N. Rhone (DRC, Leroy, Mugnier, Dujac, Chave, Chapelle, Chapoutier, Clape): One of Jeff's contributions, and WOW did this show well. A person could spend an entire night just smelling this wine it was so compelling. I would say sweet red fruit, earth, and spice intermixed perfectly to produce a singular sensation with great intensity. While that taste was also spectacular, it couldn't deliver what the nose promised. Deep black fruit and spice coat the palate. Great balance. If anything maybe slightly tangy on the finish. Really spectacular! I'm sorry I let out my secret source where two bottles are available at below market prices. I'm sure they're both gone by now.
