Tuesday, January 17, 2017 - Winter in Wineland; 1/14/2017-1/20/2017 (Sonoma & Napa): Drank this at the winery and the tasting was very much focused on more geographical tasting than flavors. This wine was described as gravity which I understand as for me the flavors really lit up along my jawbone. The tannins are softer here, but certainly still present. I get lots of red fruit - currant, darker cherry... with time maybe cranberry and just a touch of the sourness that goes with that. In the beginning it was more peppery but that seemed to evole to more of a baking spice. Nice wine. Not as approachable as I remember other Melbury's being, but very enjoyable.
