Saturday, May 16, 2009 - Korean barbecue at the "Old World" Brother In Law's place. A swell plan for the evening; Greenblanket brings the meat and the marinade and then gets to choose the wine from the great man's cellar. This one was for after dinner. We followed it over four hours and it is definitely approaching a drinking zone. The bouquet was lovely with all of the usual suspects now starting to pull in the same direction; black currant, muted pencil shavings, tobacco, gravel and a wonderful suite of earthy sous bois notes. All of these followed on a well balanced palate that finished with black fruit and floral notes. Greenblanket is very happy about this showing but still to plans sit on his bottles for a few more years.
