Little clove and vanilla in the aromatic but that's about it in terms of modern aromatics--they're both light and not intrusive, which I appreciate. This tastes like Cab, with red fruit, tobacco leaf and nothing modern getting in the way, like big oak or booze. This is instead more juicy, lightly rustic and pretty damn good.....finished later over dinner, this fleshed out some more, adding some plum and also light brushing of chocolate.. Terrific for what was a hard vintage.
