Thursday, November 19, 2020 - Not bad. Though, in a single blind flight with Grivot Beau Monts 2012, Dujac Charmes Chambertin 2012, and Ponsot Chambolle Charmes 2012, certainly the weakest. Lightest aromatically with fully red fruit nose verging on sweet cherry candy, thought for sure this was Chambolle. Elegant and rich on the palate with a fruit driven feel. There is some spice on the nose, but this lacks the robustness and power I would expect from Gevrey. I’m really struggling with connecting the written characteristics of each village to my experience in the glass.
