Sunday, March 29, 2015 - Compared to the 2012 Hill Family Merlot, this one didn't stand a chance. Was a very light Merlot, but had a lot going on. Not very earthy, and didn't have that nitrogenous nose or opening. The front was boysenberry and red licorice with a raspberry core in the middle. A little heat. The finish was bright red fruits, without much tannin. Not much going on here, but what was here was rather SOLID. Not an ager. Drink 2015-2017.
