According to the website, this particular bottling, Retromarcia, is a reference to a throwback traditional style in Chianti. 95% Sangiovese. I'm impressed how well this drinks for a $17 wine. Earthy red fruit, dominated by deep cherry tones. Well balanced acidity and alcohol elements. Nothing over the top, elements working in harmony. Hard to beat for a solid weeknight wine with a variety of red sauces and meats. Importer T.Edward, NYC.
