Friday, August 21, 2015 - Deep, generous spicy Mourvedre. Powerful stuff, but has a vertical quality which reminds me of the great wines of Bandol.
This is certainly fruity, but has a tannic structure which acts as a great counterpoint. Full bodied & showing a rich mouthfeel. This begins to show a subtle savoriness on the mid palate. The wine really hits a rhythm after an hour or so of being open.
Something that I always find impressive is when a bigger wine shows finesse & delicacy. This hits those marks & I think it will be really special with a few years in the bottle. Complex & tasty.
