Wednesday, July 22, 2020 - Second wine of Chateau Labegorce. One-hour decant through a screened funnel. Dark ruby; clear wine. No bricking yet. Not overly fragrant during decanting, but in the glass the wine had a lovely nose of black currant, cherry, toast and flowers. In the mouth, wine was deep: cherries, blackberry and cocoa. Tannins were mostly gone, but wine had excellent structure and balance. Long finish. Very satisfying wine and a wonderful Margaux despite its status as a second wine of a crus bourgeois.
