Saturday, May 9, 2015 - Tasted blind. Clear medium (+) ruby. The nose is clean and has classic aromas of black cherry, red currant and some earthiness. The palate is dry, with medium to medium (+) acidity, alcohol (14.3%) and tannins. The palate is consistent with the nose. This is well-balanced and approachable, despite its youth, with medium flavor intensity and a medium (-) finish. It is a little lighter than what I would have expected and at first I thought it might have some Merlot or Cab Franc in it. Overall, this is a very good value.
