Friday, March 28, 2014 - Bring your best you paid under $100- double blind (Norcross, GA): Deeper color, more extraction, darker garnet core with red rim; vanilla, cherry, roses, violets, deep, sweet red and dark berry, plum; soft acid, somber, very fleshy, red apple skin on finish, grainy prickly tannin, slight heat on finish; I thought this was domestic Merlot- Pahlmeyer '01 is what I called; surprised how modern the wine showed with very little Bordeaux complexity- 2nd time having it and similar showings both times.

Truth be told this Pichon was so much better than the wines we brought that evening.
