90 Points

Friday, July 19, 2013 - shared with pat at selkirk manor to celebrate the end of the work week. we have been following catena for several years now and have become fans. it seems that i like this wine more than most other ct members. reading professional and member notes i am reminded of the 8 blind men trying to describe an elephant after touching just one part. everyone seems to have their own impressions. i believe that a lot may have to do with serving temperature as the wine unwound considerably after it warmed up a bit. i find a nice balance between fruit, acidity and oak. vanilla, cream and caramel nose. poached pear and lemon in the mouth. medium body. short finish. will probably continue to develop for another year or two. will go back for more.
