Tuesday, July 7, 2020 - Tight upon opening this took about 20-30min to really let go. And did it. The nose is the best show here.Subtle and complex with notes of blood orange, nectarine, strawberry jam and a touch of wood. The bubbles are a bit aggressive. It could also use a touch more acidic in order to lift off. But it's tasty enough. Big and bold. Melon and strawberry. Not the shy, elegant type.
The cork has two numbers: 2011 and 0719. Best assumption of course is that the disgorgement is July of 2019 and this is 2011 base. The 2011 part is suspect given that seems a bit old for an NV and that was deemed a poor vintage. This wine shows a lot of fruit.
