Thursday, April 9, 2015 - Nose is slightly reductive at first with some rubber and gasoline notes. Given a few more sniffs it turns into mostly jammy red fruit and a little chocolate vanilla. Huckleberries, strawberries and a little candy.
Medium acidity, light to medium(-) body, lots of fruit, no tannins at all. Medium(-) intensity and a medium finish. Even though there is a rather sugary fruitiness to the wine it tastes surprisingly fresh. This reminds me a lot of Swedish "blåbärssoppa".
Simple and generic, but I rather take this as a drink than the heavy vanilla fruit bombs that came later in the tasting.
*On a side note I'm not even sure if this is the correct wine. Cline website states that there is a separate "2013 California Classics Lodi Zinfandel for SWEDEN (Export only)" and that it is 100% Zinfandel.
Swedish state monopoly has it as a blend with 75% zinfandel, 13% carignan, 6% mourvèdre, 3% barbera and 3% others.
