Dusky and gritty nose with oaky notes of raspberry and raisin. Early palate feels more red fruit, fades to blackberry and sawdust. I get a lot of late fruit that finishes long with a hint of alcohol.

Starts with a nice floral nose but overpowering sour cherry. Settled down after about an hour into a nice easy drinking wine. Doesn't compare to the ancient vines zin but not a bad sub $8 zin if you treat it like a more expensive wine.

Not as disappointed as I was last time tasting this Zin, I still can't get excited. The nose, with some commendable fresh brambłe and blackberry fruit was basically a tease. The palate still has an industrial and nedicinal flavor that is totally unfamiliar as a wîne flavor. Rather thin color. Disappearing mid palate. Kind of tastes like hand soap.

Not flawed, just not my taste in wine. Extremely fruit forward, almost sweet cherry juice. Acid doesn't match the fruit. Minimal oak and earth. A bit of a bitter medicinal finish.

I bought 2 bottles of this based on the Wine Spectator score of 88. Shame on me. Both bottles have been extremely disappointing. The flavors are strange and muddled. The body is light, and the finish, thankfully, is short. I do not believe in the 100-point scale and refuse to use it. But on my four-point scale where 0 is flawed, 1 is not good and something I would not purchase again, 2 is average, 3 is interesting and worth the price, a 4 is beautiful, complex, and perhaps life-changing, this is a 1 at best.

As an entry level zin this makes no sense when buying in the UK as it is at least twice the price of comparable quality wines from almost anywhere on the globe.

From one of my favorite tasting rooms to visit, way over 20 times, I have to give a disappointing review of this Zin. Reduction is the problem. Rubber and diesel from nose to finish. Been swirling like crazy and might have to pour this in the drain. Industrial cleaner, chemicals, manipulated. This winery has been hit or miss for almost a decade now. When we get a good one "hooray Cline is back", but not this time.

Nose is slightly reductive at first with some rubber and gasoline notes. Given a few more sniffs it turns into mostly jammy red fruit and a little chocolate vanilla. Huckleberries, strawberries and a little candy.
Medium acidity, light to medium(-) body, lots of fruit, no tannins at all. Medium(-) intensity and a medium finish. Even though there is a rather sugary fruitiness to the wine it tastes surprisingly fresh. This reminds me a lot of Swedish "blåbärssoppa".
Simple and generic, but I rather take this as a drink than the heavy vanilla fruit bombs that came later in the tasting.
*On a side note I'm not even sure if this is the correct wine. Cline website states that there is a separate "2013 California Classics Lodi Zinfandel for SWEDEN (Export only)" and that it is 100% Zinfandel. Swedish state monopoly has it as a blend with 75% zinfandel, 13% carignan, 6% mourvèdre, 3% barbera and 3% others.

dark red. Blueberry fruits with a bit of baking spice on the nose. Briary, dark cherry, and vanilla flavors with a dry finish. Not bad for price under $10

So a New Year and new packaging, which is clearly attractive! For me, unfortunately this is very similar to 2012's note and after sampling all evening, just too "manufactured" for me to really get into if you know what i mean. But to clearly state - decent vino, I would say most scores will be 87+ and your friends will enjoy.
Nose is slight candied with blackberry/cassis notes. Palate is med bodied with very smooth/faint tannin/acid and lots of that dark cherry/berry/cassis quality. Finish is med+ and end with a little smoke/ash note...This is a nice entry level Zin, but I would hope folks don't limit their Zin experience to this example. Needs more character/structure for me. Made for drinking in 2015-2017 for sure.
~20$ CAN for this and is a slight above average entry level price.
2015 ZAP Trade Tasting. Touch of heat on the nose, light color in the glass, dark fruit, simple fruit to taste, medium body and medium finish, not worth the $12 price to me.

Cherry and fruit forward nose and a hint of licorice. A light bodied wine with strong cherry flavors and a touch of grass on the finish. Decent entry level offering at this price point.

A budget Zinfandel that I will not look for again. Cherries but a bit dull, strangely enough anyway with good acidity level.

Light zin. Dark fruits and berries. Finishes with pepper and smooth vanilla. Better when it breathes. A little light but delicious!

Simple cherry on the nose. Cherry and strawberry upfront, finishes with vanilla. Got some tanins. It's ok, not great. Would not buy again.

A nice wine with good fruit that is slightly overpowered by the 14% alcohol. My guess is that this wine is best drunk now. A good value right now.
