Hold, or really don’t buy at all because there are too many better wines at its price point. Jaboulet, I think, is yesteryear’s news. Really nothing impressive since 1990. Young or not.

    2/18/2021 1:51:00 PM - Nothing interesting since 1990? Have you tried 09, 10, 15 or 16? Or even 1997/98? But I do agreee that 13 isn’t the most impressive vintage, but that is the case with most wines from that vintage, Rhone valley and elsewhere in France for that matter.

    2/18/2021 2:04:00 PM - @lakefarm Nothing wrong with the 13 vintage when it’s from the right producer. Chave, Clape, Jamet, Allemand etc. Excellent ‘13s. Jaboulet is not in that class.

    Have you tasted one of the more recent vintages of La Chapelle? They all sound to be no brainers according to JD, WA & al.

    Interesting to read the recent news & the decision of current owners to drop the Jaboulet name!
