Friday, April 9, 2004 - Very, very spritzy upon opening, with some sulfur as expected. Decanted, then poured back into bottle to cool. Within an hour the bubbles and sulfur were gone, leaving a very pale clear gold wine in the glass, which seems just a touch darker than I recall from a year ago. Nose was a little muted but still showing minerals and vaguely honeyed white fruit. Great palate presence, round and smooth, excellent sugar/acid balance; minerals, green apple and pear, hints of smokey petrol. Delicious, and I'm happy to have several more bottles to check in on over the next few years.
