A still fresh and floral nose, with honeysuckle, pear passionfruit, kaffir lime, petrol and slate. there's hints at maturity, yet it remains incredibly fresh. Intense, yet lithe, beautifully detailed and mouthwateringly fresh. this dances on the palate with a fantastic balance of soil, RS, acid and fruit. A distillation of Wehlener Sonnenuhr. Effortlessly gorgeous. I can’t ask much more from Kabinett (or any wine really). Fantastic. At peak with tons of time in hand.

Crumbly cork, mature but still vibrant with mouthwatering citrusy acidity, honey citrus nose, excellent depth and endless length. Lovely. 93-94. One sip demands another. Great wine. Brilliant.

I joined some friends for a Rhone tasting at lunch a few days ago and I decided to bring this as an opener wine for the group. This ended up being one of the stars of the whole thing. An absolutely brilliant bottle that was in spectacular condition and in that perfect place where youth and maturity meet. Wonderfully resolved and complete with notes of ripe white peaches and nectarines, sweet herbs and crystallized minerals. It had prickly acidity in the most delightful and delicious way. I was honestly a little shocked how gorgeously fresh this wine was. At 22 years old, I can’t imagine a better time to drink this special wine from this special producer. in an instant, this took me back and reminded me why I fell in love with Riesling 20 years ago and why this was the producer that I have to thank for that. I went on with my day with a permanent smile and I couldn’t be happier to have more in my cellar. Sometimes wines just stick with you and you can’t shake that magic you felt when tasting it, this is one of those wines for me.
A crumbly cork was about the only thing here to criticize. It fell to pieces. After the cork particles were filtered out the wine was topaz with flecks of gold and green. Dried fruits and citrus juice on the palate. Fully alive and companionable.

Not sure what was going on with this bottle, but overwhelming flavor of dill - disappointing. Excited to try the next one
