Sunday, March 18, 2018 - 2014 red Burgundy tasting w/ incredible whites served blind (Eddie V's - Tysons Corner, VA): Beautiful harmonious nose displaying crushed blackberry, a hint of raspberry, caramel, sap, espresso bean and limestone. Already showing beautiful harmonious palate, silky and fluid, finely layered fresh blackberry and espresso bean driven palate impression, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, incredibly fine tannins and a seamless pure black and red fruit driven finish with a hint of sap and espresso bean at the end. My guess is the Fourrier CSJ but the finesse makes me to quickly correct myself as the Rousseau. With air, the nose and palate become sensual and perfectly harmonious.

1/13/2021 7:10:00 PM - Would like to check if this had been decanted prior (to serving), or simply popped/poured?

Wondering if it needs a while (air) to show...?

1/17/2021 6:50:00 AM - Got it. Had this last Thu. I decanted it ~4-hrs prior into a Voss glass bottle (probably equivalent of a popped & slow-ox, 'cept with a slight larger surface area than that of the neck of a Burg-btl). Started tight/clenched but opened up thr' the 'nite in the glass with air. Beautiful inner nose/mouth perfume!
