Saturday, April 15, 2017 - Winebar [2 Whites & 7 Reds] from 04/14/17: 49% Grenache, 34% Mourvèdre, & 17% Syrah harvested @ 27.1° Brix; "Fermented ~27% whole cluster in concrete & stainless steel tanks, one-ton bins, & 1/2 ton FR oak puncheons; Aged for 17 mos in 32% new FR oak mid-sized barrels & puncheons;" 3.63 pH, 5.7 g/L T.A., & 15.6% ABV; 912 cs released Fall 2015.

N: Slightly closed; Earth, smoke, atop berries; Intensity lurking?

P: MF, POSS Med, body; Swtish frt (threshold R.S.?) balanced by acidity, the frt/swtness currently masking (I suspect) an underlying tannic structure. LONG, dustily (but ALMOST swtly) tannic finish. NEEDS until Summer '19, & then? (IF the R.S. is not an issue, MAY evolve QUITE nicely.) 95 pts WA, 92 Vinous, 91 & "Cellar Selection" WE @ $65, & 90 WS. [Likely no longer available @ the tasted $52.95, early July 2018's wine-searcher still shows vendors offering this for $60-$73.]
