Tuesday, December 14, 2021 - Early dinner gathering (Capital Grille, DC): Classic Coche nose displaying perfectly ripe white and yellow fruits, pear, apple, coconut, flint, spicy and sweet spices, a hint of oak, cool mountain stream and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of opulent white fruit with a hint of yellow, rich and oily but also cool and fluid, bright acidity, strong limestone mineral, and a long opulent white fruit driven finish with coconut and flint at the end. It displays exceptional concentration/fruit density as well as really pleasing Coche style, i.e. luxurious yet discreet use of oak, flint and opulent fruit. I hope other domaines can emulate the style.
