Thursday, October 12, 2017 - Popped and poured, dark ruby/purple. Overt aromas of blackberry, cassis, unlit cigar, pencil lead, vegetal funk and an inflection of vanilla. Medium-plus body. Archetypal Cab, albeit youthful; think flavors of dark berries and black cherry interspersed with hints of earth and herbaceous notes of mint. And although perhaps lacking a bit in complexity, exceptional balance makes up for it, with reasonable acidity perfectly complimenting chewy tannins on the moderate close.
An outstanding value in Cabernet, one that will age well over the short to medium term; give this 30 minutes of air after opening and enjoy.
