Thursday, December 28, 2023 - Took a while to open, the cork broke, but it's okay. I bought a Durand as a result, which should arrive soon.
First pour, not great, felt flat. Poured it in a decanter and let it sit for two hours.
Really opened up with that decanting. Brick color, notes of raspberry. Nice complex flavors. Still pretty tannic, I kept having to drink water alongside it.
Finished the bottle that night and it just got better as time went on.
2005 was a great year for Bordeaux and to get a bottle like this for around $30 is a fantastic QPR in my view.
