Community Tasting Note

Wednesday, May 28, 2008 - Decanted 6 hours. Color: Deep purple. Nose: an earthy, musty aroma of black fruit and plums. Flavor: Black currant dominates the midpalate. Transient mineral clay flavors pass over the back of the tongue, there is big acid in back of throat and tons of astringent tannins which move back to front on the tongue. Some grapey flavors arrive on late on the front of the tongue. A finish of unripened fruit, really starchy fruit, and straight, unflavored tannins is pretty long. You'd really need bread to get rid of it. This wine is gonna grow up to be something someday. I really don't know how to rate this. I'm guessing in 5-10 years it's easily above 90 pts.
