Likes this wine:

Wednesday, May 27, 2020 - Still packing quite a bit of ripe orchard fruit. Persistence, and elegant layers. This was at its best after 1 hr open. The last drop was, perhaps, the best. Remarkable, artful balance. highly recommended

Great note; I really like these wines even though they ought to be outside my stylistic wheelhouse. Somehow Aubert pulls it off.

Sometimes mood/setting/food have an inordinate amount to do with it, too. I've decided an occasional guilty pleasure is a good thing. And...it wasn't my bottle, so there is that. un caro saluto

As an aside, while it doesn't exactly make their chards Burgundian, if you chill these and give them some air, it does tend to lessen some of their more over the top tendencies with only a minimal hit to their deliciousness, IMO.
