Might have been due to bottle variation - this came out slightly flabby and very round. Very classical new world Chardonnay - on the richer/riper side, butterscotch notes as well, but almost an oily texture. This did improve slightly with air, but ultimately didn't feel like it performed at what people say about Aubert chards. Would definitely be open to trying more (and hopefully proven that it was just bottle variation).

Yellow with a gold tint. Lemon, tangerine, pineapple and minerals coming through on the finish. Oak is subtle but there. The complexity continues to build as it warms . Do give it time and don’t drink it too chilled.

Definitely give this some time to open up. First sip at 30 minutes after opening was a little sharp, much much improved after 90 minutes. Would rate this somewhat lower than the Aubert Lauren we had a few nights ago, felt like a pretty different style (or perhaps just the terroir). More flinty than the Lauren.

Upon opening at restaurant (Longboard Cafe in Ocean City) this was quite reductive and showed a lot of oak. After an hour this turned into a beauty. Minerals and stone fruit are very evident. An extremely full bodied and intense wine. It struggled to be a good food wine and only seemed to complement the duck dish one of us had (it overpowered the fish dishes) This would have benefited even more with decanting.

2022 Excellent Burgundy Adventure; 10/31/2022-11/6/2022 (Burgundy): This has matured showing riper yellow fruit. Fully mature nose displaying ripe yellow fruit, lemon curd, apple, a hint of flint, oak, caramel, cream, crackerjack, sweet spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated warm yellow fruit, generous and warm, bright acidity and strong mineral, and a long ripe yellow fruit driven finish. This is showing all yellow fruits now. No need to wait.

Not quite the same bottle we drank recently in that this one is showing its age. There was just a hint of oxidation in the mouth but no obvious visible signs. Otherwise its still the same beautiful wine we recently drank.

This was a fabulous bottle, though did not seem as 'fresh' as the last bottle consumed a few years ago. In reading the recent reviews, the review from DC on 10/10/21 is pretty spot on, although i would add that on this bottle I got more notes of saline & oyster shell undertones as mentioned in the review on 9/2/20.
Still an amazing bottle and no signs of oxidation or decline, just seems as some of the bright fruit has subsided and now more integrated.
Glad I have one more bottle left to try!

15.1% abv. Light gold/straw color. Nose leans to sweet confection/tropical fruit. On palate this is very extracted for Chard, tannins that ride high inside the front gums and cheeks, with plenty of tropical goodness and alcohol on the finish. Wine has the structure to go another decade but why wait? Candied pineapple, toasted brioche, mango, straw, sweet apple. I’ve got a decade of Aubert wines in cellar - time will tell whether they have the stuffing to go ‘long’ like white burgundy - my vote is yes!

Last bottle of this vintage and designate (sadly)...in OCNJ for the week. Consistent with notes from 4/28/20...orchard, saline and oyster shell are the signature notes for this wine. Improves with time open and a modest chill. Will drink at this level for a while (IMO)

Yellow color with a muted bouquet and flavor of pineapple, dried apple, toasty oak and burnt rubber, with the latter most apparent in the moderate finish. This wine would have been much better is drunk sooner. It was clearly showing its age. A second bottle drunk one week later was similar.

Chilled; consumed outside, with food, on a pair of warm summer evenings. Layers of spice on this one; quite a vibrant Chardonnay. Not Burgundian (in my shallow if long experience): Aubert is it's own thing, done very well.

Yellow color with a bouquet and flavor of pineapple, mango, dried apple, citrus, and toasty oak. Lovely depth and nuance with a long finish. The oak is not completely balanced reflecting some loss of fruit with age.

Still packing quite a bit of ripe orchard fruit. Persistence, and elegant layers. This was at its best after 1 hr open. The last drop was, perhaps, the best. Remarkable, artful balance. highly recommended
Birthday dinner, Aubert is Valerie's favorite wine...had to be opened. Slight chill, PnP, drank over 90 minutes
notes from 2019:"Medium yellow/gold color. Nose showing apples, oyster shell/saline, Palate repeats orchard fruits profile with baked apples, orange zest, pears, white flowers, oily petrol...Expressive fruits, rich texture through the mid palate, showing some butterscotch and nuts. Medium/long finish..."
Mostly consistent with those notes. Picked up more orchard fruit and less saline/oyster with this bottle. Does best as it warms in the glass. Great now, has a way to go if wanting to age...

PnP. Slightly cloudy medium light gold. Orchard fruits especially pear and peach on the nose with a lovely sweetness, balanced with some salinity and herb notes. On the palate this is quite unctuous with good viscosity but also phenolic intensity and acidity as well as a very long finish. Excellent balance for Aubert; not at all hot or soft. Lovely wine.

About 5 months since having this one last time, and this time I was able to get more. Rating didn't change. Compared to a 2014 Aubert Sugar Shack, this one had more caramelized nut, salinity and sweetness on top of a yellow fruit backbone. Done impeccably well. This pair of 14 Auberts were a good combination as there was just enough similarity yet just enough disparity as well that gave each its distinctive personality. I think this one has another 5 years in it easily, but when they're drinking this well you wonder....why hold???

Very nice. got a little bit of this, and by the time I could find it again, it was gone! This one seems to start off more acidic and mineral-driven with a little bit of salinity, and then starts to become MORE rounded towards the finish. Asian pear to the front, more of a citrus zest in the middle, finishing with butterscotch and a creaminess and roasted peanut kind of character almost. Was curious to see if this changed after an hour, as I think I got one of the first samples from initial pop. I really have no idea regarding longevity, but my guess is that you probably want to drink this one within 5 years.

This rich and viscous Chardonnay is drinking well right now, with a compelling mixture of fresh citrus and creamy mouthfeel. Yellow in color and full in body, the wine offers aromas of golden delicious apple, saline, and vanilla bean. Tastes of pear, orange marmalade, almond, and butter, with a creamy and lifted finish. 15.1% alcohol. Drink now, if you like your fruit ripe and alive, since this is already starting to age a bit. This doesn't have the depth or complexity of the best Auberts (e.g., Lauren), but this is a lovely, if creamy, wine.

Super complex Chardonnay in typical Aubert fashion with an array of lemon zest, citrus, vanilla and pineapple notes. Again, these wines are concentrated with a finish that goes on and on. Perfectly balanced with light acidity on the finish...pure Chardonnay pleasure.

This 14 was one of the best Auberts I have had to date.
Color was a strawish golden yellow with a slight haze.
Was a PnP, and don't know if decanting would have added anything, but this just had a mouthful of flavors.
Had favors of mostly light fruits - pear, apple, and melon, with a hit of lemon & grapefruit. It had a slight buttery texture, but definitely not over oaked, and had a medium minerality with a touch of stoniness.
The acidity was fabulous and think this has a long life ahead of it, and looking forward to its future, might not touch another for at least a year or two.
Seemed to really shine at the cool temp just below room.

Fresh energetic nose displaying white fruits, pear, apple, lemon juice, banana bubble yum, a slight hint of oak and limestone. Very precise palate, perfect amount of acidity, good mineral presence and long clean cool finish. There is a hint of heat at the end but it is not bothersome. PnP, drank over 30 min. Beautiful balance of flowers, fruit, acidity and density. That said, it's still has an elegance to it's full-bodied nature. Enjoy now or hold.
