Wednesday, March 15, 2023 - Medium ruby in color with some bricking & clearing at the edges. Moderate & subtle nose of mature, ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & cranberries with overtones of floral notes of roses & earthy/dusty notes, spices, minerals & a hint of sandalwood in the background. Medium bodied with a good concentration of matured, well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, strawberries & cranberries, herbs & minerals. Long lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at 40 years of age & is at its peak of development, so drink up. Ullage was well below neck/shoulder slope & cork was saturated & crumbled upon opening. A good example of a well-aged Burgundy.
