Saturday, October 22, 2011 - Sharp, spicy, and salty(?). I don't know why, but I couldn't get past that taste, and this lingered on for the whole night after 45 minutes of decanting and another 30 minutes to breathe in my glass. My co-taster said that 5% of all French wines he purchased turned bad. I bought this at the duty free shop in Hong Kong. Very, very tight, with a polished texture. Very dry fruit with hints of tobacco, and espresso, but I really could not come up with a fair assessment. We put this up against a 2001 Canon-la-Gaffeliere, and it could not put up a fight. Needs a re-taste.
