Monday, December 16, 2019 - Deep, dark reddish-garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & cassis with classic overtones of cedar, tobacco & leather, with lovely secondary nuances of floral notes of violets, earthy/dusty, graphite/iron, minerals, dried herbs, eucalyptus/mint, cocoa, spices, minerals & a touch of oak/vanilla. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruits of dark cherries, blackberries and plums with spices, herbs, cocoa, mint, minerals, toasty oak & a hint of vanilla. Long lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the fruit, structure, balance & depth to hold for a few more years although I doubt any further development would occur from additional aging. Quite lively & vibrant at 25 years of age!
