Saturday, June 1, 2019 - Had this a little over 3 years ago and vowed to open the first of my 3 soon. Times flies! The nose was fantastic upon opening but the palate reserved and a bit tannic on opening. So decided to decant foe 2 hours plus then back into the btl for an adl 75 minutes of slow ox in btl and Riedel BDX prior to dinner. Nita noticed the Margaux appellation on the label and asked me if this was the wine Jack Nicolson referred to in in Something Got to Give with Diane Keaton and I replied no but, I'd be happy to compare it blind along side the heralded 1st growth. This was every bit a stellar example of Margaux elegance, grace with 1st growth concentration and complexity. Not bad for a $29 sale price shortly after release locally! The key is giving this wine the time in cellar and the air it needs. Outstanding BDX! two more left, yea!
