Friday, July 19, 2019 - in an awkward stage but this does eventually give way to more classic aromas of dried herbs, spice box over aging red cherry with bits of soy sauce, damp leaves, rose petal, cardamom and red licorice. Juicy and fresh in the mouth with appropriate acidity. Ends with a bit of drying tannin but retains the classic Volnay charm. Good wine, even at this transitionary stage. Try again in 3-4 years to check in.
