Tuesday, March 23, 2021 - Drank from Magnum. Decanted for 90 minutes and drank over 3 hours. Dark ruby red color. Very dense wine. Masculine nose for a Pichon Lalande with leather, rocks, black berries and currants, cassis and some pepper. Initially started with some saline notes but evolved to a powerful and velvety wine, very strong structure and may need a few more years to reach maturity in magnum. Tannins quite grippy but extremely well integrated. And a decently long finish. Much darker fruit versus its cousin Pichon Baron. Very enjoyable but not the best value.
