Sunday, February 16, 2014 - This is the last bottle of six of the 2004 and 2005 I have enjoyed over the last 5+ years. All were very enjoyable, powerful, and rich. Decanted this for an hour and enjoyed with grilled fajitas. Full body, very dark, opaque, inky purple. Opens with aromas and flavors of sweet blackberries, toasty vanilla, smoky blueberries, spicy black plum, dark coffee, chocolate, licorice, and some evolving earth tones. Excellent structure, richness, and complexity with tannins that are fairly well integrated. Big, long finish. This wine can easily go another ten or so years. Wish I had more.
