In any case, this was very similar to some of the other 2003 Dönnhoff that I've had, in that it truly is not a vintage that should be skipped. Sure, the acidity is a little bit less here, but that's made up for by some real dense extract. The fruit is definitely on the sweet side, and the monumental size of this wine is something to behold.
